What is it?
This Workgroup is an online network where members have an opportunity to stay informed about current issues relevant to the Home-Based Support Services Program (HBSSP), connect with other professionals involved in the HBSSP, take advantage of training opportunities in the form of webinars, and have access to a comprehensive resource directory. The workgroup originated from the need for more peer mentoring and support and has grown to include over 165 Service Facilitators and Individual Support Service Advocates (ISSA) and is represented by over 60 agencies from all around Illinois.
Why you should join TODAY!
It is a great opportunity to keep abreast of current happenings in the field of developmental disabilities, especially as it relates to the Home-Based Support Services Program, post questions, ask for resources, and learn about training opportunities. Beginning in July, this Workgroup will be offering webinars based on results from a recent survey completed by current members (i.e. Understanding SSI/Medicaid, How to access funding for adaptive equipment/AT/home & vehicle modifications, Understanding DHS programs/services/contacts, Guardianship/trusts/wills, How to find resources, Understand the role of the Network Facilitator, Developing a meaningful ISP, What to do in a crisis, Role of the Service Facilitator, Role of ISSA, and Aces$)
Additionally, a comprehensive Resource Directory has been created and will only be available to members who have subscribed to the group.
Membership
Annual membership includes:
• Updated information on the HBSSP and other relevant programs/services
• Opportunity to exchange information with other Service Facilitators and ISSAs throughout Illinois
