Adult Services

We offer a whole spectrum of life-enhancing programs to adults with developmental disabilities who live, learn and/or work at Clearbrook. While many of our clients are proud to call Clearbrook "home," we do our best to make their experience a pleasurable one both during the day and at night.

  • Residential
Clearbrook offers an array of residential services to meet the unique interests and needs of each individual. These services include small group homes or CILAS (Community Integrated Living Arrangements), scattered throughout the surrounding communities, as well as larger homes with 24 hour nursing care and many options in between. Some homes offer specialized services to meet the needs of specific populations - for example, Clearbrook has two group homes especially for men and women with autism.

  • Developmental Training Centers
Full-day programs emphasizing interdependence, Clearbrook's Developmental Training (DT) Services helps participants acquire new skills and refine existing skills in the areas of daily living, communication, decision-making and socialization.

  • Clinical
From occupational, physical, speech and language therapies to behavioral programming, counseling, and medical, psychological, and psychiatric consultations, Clearbrook's Clinical Services provides a full complement of therapeutic and professional support to individuals with developmental disabilities. Our therapists are a valuable resource for Clearbrook staff persons who work directly with clients that live in our residential homes and participate in our day programs. Behavior Services are supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, providing assessments, formal programming and staff training. A full-range of consultants also contribute to the offerings from the Clinical Services department.

  • In-Home
Clearbrook's In-Home Services, called LIFE (Living and Learning in Family Environments), is designed to allow clients to remain in a family environment as long as possible, focusing on goal setting and developing new skills to help the client move towards independence.

  • Family & Community Autism Resource Room
Our Family & Community Autism Resource Room is located inside Clearbrook’s CHILD Therapy Services office (3705 Pheasant Drive in Rolling Meadows).

  • Building Bridges
The transition from high school into the next phase of life can be a challenge for many young adults. For young adults with disabilities, and their families, Clearbrook offers assistance in making the transition as smooth as possible through the Building Bridges program.

  • Senior Program
Clearbrook's ACES Program (Activities and Creative Services for Seniors) offers specialized services to meet the needs of individuals that have developmental disabilities and are aging. The individualized schedules offer participants opportunities based on their changing interests and needs.

  • Autism Program
The CAP Program (Clearbrook Autism Program) provides services to adults that are on the autism spectrum. The program provides a highly structured schedule with opportunities for community-based employment experiences and recreational activities.

  • PAL Program
The PAL Program (Partners in Adult Learing) is an innovative partnership between families, service providers and the community. PAL provides opportunities for continued learning for young adults over 18 years of age with developmental disabilities and physical challenges who have graduated out of the school system.

  • Employment Services
Clearbrook presents a dependable, highly motivated and flexible workforce to the business community. Through training and placement programs, adults with developmental disabilities are given every chance to develop desired vocational and social skills.
